Tennis Court Security – New Key Arrangements

It is important that we maintain the security of our courts.

We allow members to Hire keys to access the courts with currently a one off charge of £6.

Over a period of years we have not changed the padlocks and many of the hired keys are still at large belonging to people who are no longer members and who should should not have access to the courts and should have returned the keys.

So we have purchased some new padlocks and a number of new keys. It is planned that on the Great Tennis Weekend Open Day we will fit the new padlocks and issue new keys at the Tennis Welcoming Table with the following conditions.

1 If you are a current member with an existing key we will swop your existing key with a new key for no charge.

2 If you are a current member without an existing key and would like a new key there will be a charge of £6 for a current key.

3 If you are a current member with an existing key but will not be attending the Open Day we will swop your existing key with a new key for no charge.

To do this you will need to contact any of the following to make arrangements to swop and collect a new key.

Jane Howes on 01793 791401 or 07951 563367

Jane Flew on 01793 790332

Helen Halfhead on 01793 790852 or 07947 035970

Becky Prince on 07716094225

4 If you are a current member without an existing key but will not be attending the Open Day there will be a charge of £6 for a current key. You will need to contact any of the above to make arrangements to collect a new key and pay the £6.

If you have lost your key and would like a new one I’m afraid you will have to pay the £6 fee.

Sad day for Wanborough Tennis Club

Today 24.08.2017 saw the funeral of Wanborough Tennis Club’s ” Mrs Tennis” our very own President, Dawn Hopkins.

A very large number of past and present Club members plus family and friends filled the Chapel at the Crematorium. During a lovely service we got to know so much more about Dawn’s colourful and varied life although Tennis dominated those years.

The picture shows Dawn’s beautiful coffin decorated with a panoramic view of Centre Court Wimbledon. With a floral wreath of a tennis racquet and ball.
